Note From Producers: Tonight came the conclusion to an incredible two weeks of film in Frederick. The creative spirit was alive and well inside the Weinberg, on the streets, and in the bones of every individual that contributed to the 72 Film Fest. The organizers would like to thank all those in attendance as well as our sponsors for 2008 (Mac Business Solutions, Cafe Nola, and Frederick Arts Council). Danke to all of our supporters like Beccah Bartlett and Structures Salon, Wonder Book, Cacique, FCC, Celebrate Frederick, and the Weinberg Center. Also, a huge thank you to all of our volunteers with whom 72 Film Fest would not be possible.
Filmmakers, thanks SOOO much for competing this year. We loved having each of you as part of the festival and hope you return for many years to come.
We are constantly striving to make this event as good as possible and we’d appreciate your feedback whether positive or negative: staff@72fest.com. Although, if negative, please try to let us down gently.
Thanks to all whom made this year’s event fun and exciting.
Jason Clark and Salyer.

Thursday October 2nd: Launch Party:
Everyone is welcome to attend the FREE Launch Party.
Come out and celebrate our 3rd 72 Film Fest with our FREELAUNCH PARTY.
At the launch party- Teams will register, mingle, challenge each other to thumb duels, eat, drink and ultimately receive the SECRET criteria that must be put into their short films! Shh. One of you out there actually knows the criteria for this year. We so friggin told you at last years Wrap Party, and you had no idea.
Right after this party (like no joke – the minute we say “GO HOME”) – Teams will only have 72 hours to write, direct and edit a short film.
Various forms of entertainment will be present at the Launch including “some of the past years films”, “silly adults”, “sarcastic teenagers”, “one guy who takes himself way too seriously” and possibly even “someone with a guitar”. With that kinda lineup – who knows what might happen.
Launch Party 7pm-9pm. Cultural Arts Center.
Friday October 10th 7:30 pm
Saturday October 11th 7:30pm
72 Film Fest has expanded into a 2 Day event! Saturday Night will have the highest judged entries, musical guests, 72 Fest Mockumentaries and the Award Ceremony where one of you will take home the coveted Golden Man. Friday Night’s lineup will be determined by the filmmakers. All registering filmmakers be sure to vote. Head over to Register Now! to see the two possibilities.
$10 One Day. $17 Both.
7:30 PM. Weinberg Center for the Arts.
