72 Film Fest Launch Party will once again be on the top floor of Artomatic Frederick Building. If you’re over 21, head over to building 2 for a happy hour from 5:30-7pm. Otherwise get your butt in there in at 7pm, register, listen to some tunes provided by DJ Synapsis, peruse the tables, maybe buy a TShirt or a DVD to help us keep this thing going, and have fun! If you haven’t checked out all the art at Artomatic, get there a little early and check out what artists around Frederick are doing.

The updated iOS app is now live. Grab it now to take pics of the launch. We will also give out a link to an Android/Web version at the Launch Party. Snap photos of your production from Launch to Turn In and we’ll once again show them off at the Fest.
MOTORIZED DC SLIDER
Archai Media will be holding a raffle for a FREE ONE DAY RENTAL of the Motorized DC Slider so one lucky team (that has insurance) can take it out and use it on their 72 Film Fest Entry. It can be motorized, or hand powered and is quickly adaptable to a jib. Details at Launch Party. To see what the slider can do check out the Archai Media Featured Gear Video.

It’s not too late to register! Late Registration is online until 2pm and we will be accepting registrations at the Launch. Teams will pick in the order they register, so unless you want last pick, get your registration in now.

Welcome PETE BERGEN as our Launch Party Host. Pete is a DC based Comic and Actor. He can be seen at clubs and theaters all over and has opened for touring headliners Chris Coccia, Jim Short and Bobcat Goldthwait. He was also in our short “The Horror” last year, playing both “Jason” and the poor fellow laying on the ground in “Jigsaw’s” lair.

7pm- Finalize Registration on Top Floor of Artomatic Frederick 115 E Church St. Teams will get their filmmaker packets and sign their registration forms. While mingling with your fellow filmmakers and film fans- Be sure to check out the tables for some cool things like a peek at this year’s awards by Roland Metal Art, the Motorized Slider Raffle, some brand new 72 merch, and the wall (screen) of criteria. 7:45pm – LEDA
8pm – Your Host PETE BERGEN takes the stage and criteria selection begins. Pick your criteria wisely, get your team video taken then await further instructions before heading out to make your movie.
9pm – ? Late Night Brainstorming Session at Area 31. 31 E Patrick Street. Open to any team. Area 31 Cinema Studios in downtown Frederick is opening its doors immediately after the 72 Fest launch party if any teams need a central location downtown to hang out and brainstorm or write their next award winning short! Come drink loads of ChocoSombra coffee and have some snacks. You can chill out in our cozy lounge area, at our bar or use our conference table! Connectivity Group will even let you use their office if it gets crowded! If you’re interested click attending here so we know how much coffee to brew!
